GEO Skill Pack

Three Hermes Agent skills to audit, optimize, and watch how generative search engines read and cite your business.

What it is

The GEO Skill Pack is a set of three specialized Hermes Agent skills: geo-audit, geo-optimize, and geo-watch. Together, they form an operational loop to align a website’s content structure with the extraction gates of generative search engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.

This toolkit was created during our GEO implementation for Le J’ Coffee in Da Lat. Within twenty days of deploying these guidelines across 19 educational pages, Le J’ products appeared as top-cited recommendations in live ChatGPT and Gemini queries. You can read the full, data-backed timeline and look at the citation screenshots in the associated field note.

The three-stage architecture

The pack splits the optimization work into three independent tasks to handle platform constraints and prevent content drift:

1. geo-audit (The Diagnostics Gate)

Before changing a single line of code, this skill crawls your public pages, parses your existing schema markup, and maps your content against the seven primary GEO dimensions (Metadata, Page Lead, Q-A Chunking, Context, Citations, Schema, and Freshness). It identifies structural gaps and outputs a prioritized action report.

2. geo-optimize (The Rewrite Engine)

Once gaps are identified, this skill restructures your pages. It applies all six major RAG-friendly transformations on the target page:

3. geo-watch (The Durability Sentinel)

Search engines frequently re-render, theme updates break headers, and competitor content shifts. This skill acts as a lightweight recurring watchdog. It runs via Hermes’s cron system to re-check your optimized pages, verify that your micro-schemas remain live, parse metadata changes, and detect new query gaps in your niche.

Operating loop

Target Domain / Niche

[geo-audit] ─→ Map existing pages, evaluate gates, extract gaps

[geo-optimize] ─→ Rewrite target pages (Metadata, BLUF Leads, Chunks, Schema)

[Deploy] ─→ Publish changes to Shopify / WordPress / static site

[Verify] ─→ Curl live HTML, validate head scripts, check index status

[geo-watch] ─→ Schedule weekly cron checks, monitor regressions, log queries

Installation

You can clone and install the skill pack directly into your active Hermes setup. Review the installation script before execution:

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/thanhan-a17/geo-skill-pack.git
cd geo-skill-pack

# Run the local installer
bash install.sh

To call the skills in your daily terminal sessions:

# Run a one-off audit on your domain
hermes --skills geo-audit

# Optimize a failing template
hermes --skills geo-optimize

Practical limits and guardrails

  1. A citation is an observation, not a rank. Generative search engines randomize recommendations, test user clusters, and update context windows dynamically. Do not treat a point-in-time screenshot as a permanent ranking asset.
  2. Citations require search engine indexing. If Bing (for ChatGPT) or Google (for Gemini) has not crawled your revised page, the AI engine cannot cite it. Secure and verify your search console setups first.
  3. Never invent primary sources. AI grounding checks cross-reference claims against general knowledge-graph parameters. Fabricating non-existent research papers flatlines your authority score.
  4. Isolate your page tests. When verifying a change, use Perplexity or Bing Copilot first. These systems query live search indexes on the fly. ChatGPT free and native Gemini rely on frozen snapshots and will not show your updates until their next training cycle.

If you are running an independent business with deep expertise but zero visibility in the age of AI search, let’s look at your pages together:
